Freunde der operklosterneuburg 2026
- #Oper
In the first part of the concert, Orestas Vagusevičius and Danielė Brekytė present a programme that blends music from the past with works by contemporary composers. Featuring music by Mélanie Bonis, Anatolijus Šenderovas, Jérôme Combier, Jonas Jurkūnas, Robert Karpay (world-premiere), and Lukas Lützow (word-premiere), the evening explores the piano and violin in very different ways — from intimate solo pieces to improvisation and electronic sounds.
The second part is titled ‚Dear, Dear‘ as a reference to the format of a love letter. In the program, the creators pay tribute to their most important musical inspirations—John Cage, Meredith Monk, Nils Frahm, Hania Rani, Maurice Ravel, Angelo Badalamenti, Suzanne Ciani, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Chilly Gonzales, and Nicolas Jaar. The program becomes a map of their experiences and inspirations, in which well-known, beloved works that shape their musical identity become the starting point of their conversation. At the same time, it is also a love letter to each other—to the accomplice of the creative act, performed by composer Agnė Matulevičiūtė and pianist Marta Finkelštein.
