Julian and his friends wander around Toronto at night. After being disowned by his family because of his queer identity, he finds shelter with a sex worker. When she doesn’t come home one day, Julian sets out to find her. Joseph Amenta’s feature debut shows a teenager learning to navigate an often hostile world, from the dazzling nightlife to the brittle idyll of Canadian suburbia. A queer coming-of-age story that remains nuanced without sugarcoating.
